WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had with my SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD!!! I will start off by saying that this office was recommended to me by my insurance company because I was having a very difficult time finding a dentist that would attend my child who has cerebral palsy. When scheduling our appointment I let the lady on the phone know that my child has cerebral palsy however, she assured me that the Dr's were ALL highly trained and dealt with special needs children on a daily basis. When I arrived my child was seen by Dr. Jeff Podowitz. He merely opened my child's mouth, closed it and told me in a non shelant manner that he could not take care of my child's teeth! When I asked why Dr. Podowitz told me that he did not feel comfortable doing so in his office and that he did not have CHOP privileges to do any dental care on my child. He told me that I was better off finding a Dr. Who could attend my child and do so at CHOP if need be. He never once recommended anything nor told me how the health of my child's teeth looked he was absolutely terrible and terrified to touch my child!!! I must say that Dr. Podowitz is a sorry excuse of a dentist and an embarrassment to the name of the practice "DENTISTRY FOR SPECIAL PEOPLE"! Way to make me feel like my child was a little to special for your special needs dentistry!!! I would NEVER recommend this office to anyone whom has a special needs child. I'm appalled especially after finding out that Dr. Podowitz's partner Dr. Sayanny does have privileges to work at CHOP which was never disclosed to me. Instead of Dr. Podowitz ranting off about how he couldn't care for my child he should've recommended me to his partner, but again he didn't nor did any of his staff! Again extremely awful experience all around....far from fun, personable, interactive and effective!
Dont take your kids there he is nuts. He wanted to tie my 2 year old down and cut a tooth out with him kicking and screaming I was not about to let him do that I left and will not ever go back there
The absolute worst dentist I have ever encountered. Was told in Dec 2016 that my 5 yr old needs surgery and someone would contact me to schedule the date. Needless to say no one called. I called and it took weeks for her to return my call. Here were are June 30th and no date set for his surgery, the Blackwood location no longer has his chart. And their cavalier attitude is infuriating to say the least.
